Consultation & Training

Make an enquiry

Links provides consultation to a wide-range of child-care professionals within health, education, and social work services.

Consultation provides an opportunity to discuss a case and gain a psychological perspective by exploring how to work with or manage a particular clients’ needs. It can help in understanding issues, such as attachment needs, child development, mental health issues, contact issues and placement planning, and can help to access appropriate interventions or signposting to relevant services. Examples include pre-proceeding consultation to social workers, and consultation to education staff around managing a particular child’s needs in the classroom environment.

This may involve a one-to-one meeting, or may be attended by a number of staff, be a short-term intervention or part of a rolling programme. Summary letters of issues discussed can be provided.
